The Players are an acting company who arrive in Scene 7, and who perform the Gonzago / 'Mousetrap' play in Scene 9.

  • Costume - showy. Colorful and eye-catching. In the play they do, their costumes must be appropriate to their parts, of course.

The name of the playing company, and the names of the Players, are not given, although it's clear they wish to become The Prince's Men.

I don't know that any of the lines by the Players is a famous quote, but many are significant to the play, too many to extract and explain here.

Themes and Motifs

The Theme clearly most relevant to the Players is:

Putting on a Show

On Stage

The Players appear in Scene 7 and in Scene 9.
